鄭淵智 Jonathan Charles TAY

新加坡男高音鄭淵智被譽為其一代最傑出的新加坡歌劇演唱家之一。他最初在紐約曼哈頓音樂學院接受正規音樂教育，隨後在芝加哥西北大學取得了音樂碩士學位。

鄭淵智是新加坡著名歌劇團體 The Opera People（TOP） 的聯合創始人兼聯合藝術總監。憑藉超過 40 個歌劇角色的表演經驗，他已成為新加坡歌劇界資深的表演者。

鄭淵智擁有豐富的曲目，包括在新加坡歌劇院（Singapore Lyric Opera）演出的史特勞斯《蝙蝠》中的艾森斯坦（Eisenstein）、《醜角》（Pagliacci）中的貝佩（Beppe）、以及比才《卡門》中的唐·何塞（Don José）。他還曾與新加坡交響樂團（SSO）合作，參演普契尼《波希米亞人》（La Bohème）和拉威爾《西班牙時光》（L’heure Espagnole）。

鄭淵智還與新加坡華樂團、L’arietta Productions、Braddell Heights 交響樂團、國立大學交響樂團、理查德·華格納協會（新加坡）、The Arts Place、新加坡新歌劇團以及 Opera Viva 等多個音樂團體合作。他的演出獲得《OPERA》雜誌高度評價，被稱為「卓越且極具抒情性」。

Singaporean tenor Jonathan Charles Tay stands out as one of the leading opera singers of his generation from Singapore. He began his formal music education at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, subsequently earning his Master of Music degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Jonathan is the co-founder and co-artistic director of The Opera People (TOP), a prominent Singaporean opera company. With more than 40 opera roles to his credit, he is a seasoned veteran of the Singapore opera scene.

Jonathan’s extensive repertoire includes notable roles such as Eisenstein in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Beppe in Pagliacci, and Don José in Bizet’s Carmen, all performed with the Singapore Lyric Opera. He has also appeared with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) in productions of Puccini’s La Bohème and Ravel’s L’heure Espagnole.

With The Opera People, Jonathan’s performances include Der Zwerg in Alexander Zemlinsky’s Dwarf, Jaquino in Beethoven’s Fidelio, and the title role in Mozart's Idomeneo—Singapore’s first ever opera film. He has also portrayed Oronte in Handel's Alcina, Elvino in La Sonnambula, Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, and most recently Pylade in Gluck’s Iphégenie en Tauride.

Other notable appearances include Rodolfo in La Bohème with Musician’s Initiative, Bertrando in Rossini’s L’inganno felice, and MacDuff in Verdi’s Macbeth with Lirica Arts. In 2026, Jonathan is set to perform the role of Alfredo in Verdi’s La Traviata with The Opera People.

Jonathan’s recent concert engagements feature Beethoven’s Choral Fantasie with the SSO, Before Life and After with the Singapore International Festival of Arts, and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor and Horn with the Orchestra of the Music Makers. He also performed as Ram in the world premiere of Jonathan Dove’s A Bridge across the Sea at the Esplanade Concert Hall.

Jonathan has also collaborated with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, L’arietta Productions, Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra, NUS Symphony Orchestra, Richard Wagner Association (Singapore), The Arts Place, New Opera Singapore, and Opera Viva. His performances have been lauded by OPERA magazine as “excellent and very lyrical.”
