//Introduction//
The workshop on July 25 is conceived as a public and pedagogical extension of the working process developed by Danilo Lovisi during his residency. During the first two weeks, the project will focus on observing selected artworks from the NTMoFA collection and collecting modest urban fragments through walks in Taichung. The workshop will share this method with participants by inviting them to experiment with intuitive visual pairings between images, objects, textures and memories. Through this collective exercise, participants will create associations and short narratives, while being introduced to the project’s main gestures: looking, associating, mapping and narrating. The aim is to make the residency’s core method accessible to the public through a participatory format, and to explore how meaning can emerge through proximity, contrast and eventual resonance.
//Format//
A collaborative workshop inviting participants to create intuitive visual associations between everyday objects, personal images and reproductions of artworks from the museum collection pre-selected by Danilo Lovisi, around the themes of islandness, memory, affective relationships with images and materials.
Inspired by visual mapping practices, the workshop encourages participants to build unexpected resonances through memory, form, texture, symbolism or personal experience. The workshop is conceived as accessible and inter generational, open to participants without requiring prior theoretical or artistic knowledge.
