[Lecture] Kuo Hsueh-Hu and New Media Art: Encountering the Classics Anew

▎活動簡介 ▎

國立臺灣美術館近年來致力於「重建臺灣藝術史」，扎根藝術史教育與推廣，並持續推動科技與藝術的跨域融合。本次特規畫專題講座，探討台灣前輩畫家郭雪湖的經典膠彩畫作，如何透過沉浸式科技（XR）開啟全新的觀看視角！

本講座聚焦於經典畫作的數位轉譯，特別邀請郭雪湖基金會代表與《郭雪湖望鄉三態》VR導演張文杰（Ben Chang），進行一場跨越世代與媒材的深度對談。

從1930年代的大稻埕歷史記憶，到當代虛擬實境的空間建模與敘事設計，講者們將親自揭開這場「數位鍊金術」的幕後故事。邀請您一同走入美術館，見證科技如何延續歷史靈光，賦予典藏藝術嶄新的當代生命力。

In recent years, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) has been dedicated to "Reconstructing Taiwan's Art History," deeply rooting art history education and continuously promoting the cross-disciplinary integration of art and technology. This special lecture explores how the classic gouache paintings of pioneering Taiwanese artist Kuo Hsueh-Hu are being presented from entirely new perspectives through immersive technology (XR).

▎Concept & Introduction ▎

This lecture focuses on the digital translation of classic artworks. We are honored to invite a representative from the Kuo Hsueh-Hu Foundation and Ben Chang, the VR director of "The Three States of Nostalgia," for an in-depth dialogue that transcends generations and mediums.

From the historical memory of 1930s Dadaocheng to the spatial modeling and narrative design of contemporary virtual reality, our speakers will unveil the behind-the-scenes magic of this digital alchemy. Join us to witness how technology carries forward the aura of history, breathing new contemporary life into classical art.

  [Historical Memory and Preservation] Decoding Kuo Hsueh-Hu’s classical paintings, recreating the prosperous 1930s Dadaocheng, and sharing the foundation's original intention behind promoting digitalization.
• Ben Chang, VR Director
  [The Aesthetics of Tech-Translation] Analyzing the behind-the-scenes production of "The Three States of Nostalgia" and discussing the technical challenges of crossing from 2D gouache strokes into a 3D virtual space.

▎Registration & Notice ▎

1. Online registration is now open. Seats are limited to 40 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Reserved seats will be held until 5 minutes before the event starts, after which they will be released to waitlisted attendees.
3. The event will be recorded (audio/video) for the museum's educational promotion and online resources.
4. NTMoFA reserves the right to modify the event. Any changes will be announced on the official website.

講座參加方式：

1. 歡迎至VR藝廊完成觀賞最新一期VR作品，採網路報名，開放40個名額，依報名先後順序錄取，額滿為止，錄取名單公布於本館網站，不再另行通知。
2. 正取及備取名單公告於本館網站，正取者因故無法參加者，請於活動前3日自行上網取消或來電取消報名〈正取取消之員額，依備取排序順序遞補〉，未依規定取消者，本館將列入限制日後參加活動之機會，敬請合作。
3. 網路報名若未額滿，活動當天將於藝術圖書中心報到處開放現場報名。
4. 報到時間為13:50-14:00，逾時未到視同棄權，缺額由現場報名遞補。
5. 活動將進行現場錄音/影紀錄，做為本館推廣教育及線上資源使用。
6. 本館保有活動內容變更之權利，若有異動將公告於國美館官網。

注意事項：

1. 活動中將進行現場拍照，參與本活動即同意授權本館將相關照片資料應用於非營利之教育推廣等用途，含研究、公共服務、公開展示、播送及傳輸等之權利。
2. 配合中央流行疫情指揮中心自112年2月20日起放寬室內戴口罩規定，除下列特殊情境建議須戴口罩外，由參加活動者自主決定是否戴口罩：

(一)有發燒或呼吸道症狀。

(二)年長者或免疫低下者。

(三)人潮聚集且無法保持適當距離或通風不良之場合。

(四)與年長者或免疫低下者(尤其是未完整接種疫苗者)密切接觸時。

3. 活動當日若造成藝術圖書中心聲音影響，不便之處敬請見諒。
