Event Details

1.Purpose

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) International Residency Program invites international professionals to conduct research and engage in collaborative exchanges at the museum. This initiative aims to promote international dialogue and foster research on our collections by providing access to our resources. The International Residency Program is established in accordance with the 'Guidelines for the Open Call for International Residency Fellows at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts'

 

2.Organizer

National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (hereafter referred to as "the Museum")

 

3.Eligibility

   Applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. Be a non-Republic of China (Taiwan) national working as an artist, curator, art historian, critic, theorist, or museum professional.
  2. Not be currently enrolled as a student.
  3. Demonstrate substantial knowledge and understanding of the Museum, its collections, and Taiwan's culture and arts.
  4. Have a minimum of five years of professional experience in art or research-related work, and not have received support from the Museum for residency within the past two years.
  5. Have basic communication skills in English or Chinese.

 

4.Numbers of Openings

   One (1) primary recipient and two (2) alternates will be selected.

 

5.Residency Period

    September 15 to November 18, 2025

  • Minimum stay: 30 days
  • Maximum stay: 65 days

 

6.Support Provided by the Museum

     The Museum will provide:

  1. A return economy class air ticket from the selected resident's point of departure to Taiwan
  2. A return public transportation costs between the airport and the Museum
  3. Insurance coverage
  4. Daily residency allowance (covering research/creation funding and living expenses):
  5. Dedicated studio space at no cost
  6. Access to the Collection Vault to view works from the designated research collections outlined in the residency plan
  7. Access to the Museum's Art Library

 

7.Evaluation criteria :

1) The alignment of the residency plan with one of the museum's Selection Criteria (see below), along with the feasibility and completeness of the plan. (40%)

B. Taiwanese Art History

C. Taiwanese Artists

D. Technology Art

2) The feasibility and completeness of the public promotion plan or public presentation. (25%)

3) The applicant's resume and publications/works. (20%)

4) The applicant's performance during the online presentation and Q&A session. (15%)

Registration Information

Application Process

 

1. Submit applications online through the Museum's official website.

2. Required documents: Application form, CV, residency proposal, and a copy of your passport. (see Attachment 1) Applicants applying as a professor or associate professor are required to provide the relevant documents.

Application Submission: March 1 - March 24

Preliminary Review: Early April

Final Review(Interview): Mid-April
