佐格‧伏里奇
從2003/2004年音樂季開始之時起,佐格‧伏里奇已經是什勒斯維希-霍爾斯坦州首府基爾的音樂總監了。在他從事指揮之前佐格‧伏里奇先是在德列登市的「卡爾瑪麗亞偉伯」音樂學院攻讀大提琴。在1984-1988年的歲月中,他先是薩克森邦德列斯登國家樂隊的臨時特約助理,然後則成為永久助理,對他而言,這是一段意義重大的時段,因為他在這個時候獲得了非常多的經驗,而因此而造就了他日後的音樂生涯。

佐格‧伏里奇在1991年以德國指揮論壇的得獎者身份在哈勒市嶄露頭角。1993年他獲得了賀爾伯特·馮·卡拉揚基金會(Herbert-von-Karajan-Stiftung)的獎學金。 在接下來的短短5年之後他就被招攬成為南威斯伐利亞愛樂管弦樂團的音樂總監以及哈根市戲劇院的音樂總管。這項職務他一直到了2002/2003年的音樂季才卸下。

除此之外,他也曾經受邀於巴塞爾廣播電台交響樂團、安特衛普弗蘭德恩皇家愛樂交響樂團、北京交響樂團、愛爾蘭國家交響樂團、臺北市立交響樂團以及約翰尼斯堡國家交響樂團。在都柏林可以聽到他指揮的威爾第歌劇《唐·卡洛》,他也指揮過美國伍德斯托克-莫札特-藝術節、斯圖佳特國家歌劇院(《艾蕾克特拉》、《玫瑰騎士》、《莎樂美》、《納克索斯島上的阿麗雅德妮》)、漢諾威國家歌劇院(《唐喬凡尼》)、埃森阿爾圖劇院(《艾蕾克特拉》)以及萊茵德國歌劇院(例如《飛翔的荷蘭人》、《莎樂美》、《唐·卡洛》)。其他的客座任務也讓他拿起指揮棒指揮普契尼的歌劇《波西米亞人》、《蝴蝶夫人》以及在德列斯登森柏歌劇院很多次比才《卡門》的演出。
在2015/2016年的音樂季裡佐格‧伏里奇在基爾開始準備《萊茵的黃金》、《女武神瓦爾基麗雅》,華格納的《尼伯龍根的指環》並要將這些大作在接下來的音樂季裡完成。除了上述在斯圖佳特以及埃森指揮史特勞斯的歌劇之外,他也在慕尼黑、克拉科夫並且和慕尼黑廣播電台管弦樂團在加爾米施-帕滕基爾興的李查史特勞斯的音樂藝術節上指揮演奏音樂。他和蜜夏埃爾佛勒以及柏林廣播電台交響樂團在春季為國際歐菲歐唱片公司製作了一份李查華格納歌劇詠歎調的錄音。
佐格‧伏里奇也和柏林廣播電台交響樂團為博德曼音樂公司(BMG)、與德國交響樂團為德國廣播電台,與基爾愛樂交響樂團在Querstand 及Neos公司以及與西北德國賀爾福特愛樂以及與魯爾工業區的匈牙利愛樂為德西廣播電台製作了許多其他的CD光碟以及廣播電台節目。
佐格‧伏里奇的演出節目包括了不同時代無數的演奏會以及歌劇的曲目。他對德國古典時期以及浪漫時期的偉大作曲家,例如莫札特、貝多芬、雷格、舒伯特、孟德爾松、布魯克納、馬勒以及李查史特勞斯等的音樂有著一份特殊的偏愛。

除了他多得難以數計的指揮工作之外,佐格‧伏里奇也非常重視獎勵並提拔藝術家後進。例如他從1999年到2003年期間就在荷蘭的堤爾堡音樂學院擔任過指揮的教授職務。2003年他也經常主持德國音樂協會總會舉辦的指揮論壇的指揮課程。在2017年春天也在慕尼黑作了同樣的工作。2016年秋天他為斯圖佳特音樂學院開辦了一個以李查史特勞斯為重點的指揮課程。
Since the 2003/04 season, Georg Fritzsch has been the general music director of the state capital Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein. He studied cello at The University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden before devoting himself to conducting. In 1984-1988, a meaningful period, he began his music career as a substitute and later as a permanent assistant to The Staatskapelle Dresden where he gained large experience.
After the cello studies, Georg Fritzsch worked at the Gera Philharmonic Orchestra as a cellist. Meanwhile, he began his conducting studies in Dresden and Leipzig, which he completed in 1993. In this period, the decisive encounter with Heinz Rögner, who was the outstanding conductor and distinguished teacher, influenced him enormously. Georg Fritzsch and Mr. Rögner keep an intensive artistic friendship until Mr. Rögner’s death.
In 1991, Georg Fritzsch shined in Halle as a prize winner of the Germany Conductor Forum. In 1993, he won the scholarship from Herbert-von-Karajan-Foundation and only fives years later, he was appointed to the General Music Director of the South Westphalia Philharmonic Orchestra and the Musical Head of the Theatre Hagen. He held these position until 2002/03 season.
From 2009 to 2011, besides his ongoing position in Kiel, he also invited as the chief conductor of the Tyrol Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck as well as Tyrolean State Theatre.
In recent years, Georg Fritzsch has been a guest conductor in China, France, Spain, Poland, UK, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Korea, Taiwan, Italy, Israel, USA, South Africa, Estonia and Turkey. Besides, he also stood on the podiums at the Staatskapelle Dresden, Dresden Philharmonic, German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart State Orchestra, Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Weimar, Stuttgart Philharmonic, Nuremberg State Philharmonic Orchestra, Hamburg Symphony Orchestra and Munich Symphony Orchestra.
In addition, he has been invited to the Symphony Orchestra Basel, Royal Philharmonic of Flanders Antwerp, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra. In Dublin, he was to be heard with Verdi's Don Carlos. He also conducted Woodstock-Mozart-Festival in the US, the Stuttgart State Opera (Elektra, Der Rosenkavalier, Salome, Ariadne auf Naxos), the Hannover State Opera (Don Giovanni), the Aalto Theatre in Essen (Elektra) as well as the German Opera on the Rhine (The Flying Dutchman, Salome and Don Carlos among others). Further guest engagements led him performed with Puccini's La Bohème and Madama Butterfly and Bizet's Carmen to the Dresden Semperoper.
In the season 2015/16, Georg Fritzsch prepared for The Rheingold and Die Walküre in Wagner's Ring of the Nibelungen, which he will complete in the coming season. In addition to conducting the above-mentioned Strauss operas in Stuttgart and Essen, he also performed in Munich and Krakow with the Munich Radio Orchestra at the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. With Michael Volle and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, he produced for ORFEO International a recording with Richard Wagner’s opera arias.
Georg Fritzsch produced many CDs and Radio productions with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra for the BMG, with the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin for Deutschlandradio (DLR), with the Philharmonic Orchestra Kiel for the Querstand and the NEOS, with the North West German Philharmonic in Herford and the Philharmonia Hungarica in the Ruhr district for the West German Broadcasting Cologne (WDR).
The repertoire of Georg Fritzsch includes diverse periods of concerts and operas. He prefers the great composers of German Classical period and Romanticism, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Reger, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Wagner, Mahler and Richard Strauss.
Even though, Georg Fritzsch has a high reputation in contemporary music. He has been very successful in conducting various premieres of works by Matthus, Franke, Kirchner, Kunad and others. It is worth mentioning that his commitment to Cristóbal Halffter, whose opera Lázaro and Schachnovelle have premiered.
The diverse style of the conductor is also evident in his lively activity in the crossover area. He has worked with artists such as the composer Jon Lord, the NDR Big Band, the King's and Swingle Singers, Klazz Brothers & Cuba Percussion, as well as rock musicians like KARAT, the Prince and Suzi Quatro.
In addition to his numerous conducting engagements, Georg Fritzsch puts great efforts on the promotion of young artists. From 1999 to 2003, he held a conducting professorship at the Tilburg Music Conservatory in the Netherlands. Since 2003, he has been holding regular conducting courses for the Conductor's Forum of the German Music Council and arranged the course in Munich in the spring of 2017. In autumn 2016, he arranged a conducting course which focused on Richard Strauss for the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.
