吳巍 l 笙

1970年生,上海音樂院畢業,曾任上海民族樂團笙獨奏家,隨後取得德國DAAD文化交流獎學金赴漢斯․艾斯勒音樂院研習,現定居柏林。

吳巍拿下多項國內外比賽的獎項,1996年及2002年分別摘下德國Musica Vitale 比賽首獎,2004年再獲德國Global Root 世界音樂獎。2011年,吳巍於愛丁堡國際藝術節演出陳銀淑的笙協奏曲《Šu》(由鄭明勳指揮首爾愛樂),獲頒先驅天使獎(Herald Angels Award)。

自1996年開始,吳巍以笙獨奏家的身分與世界各頂尖樂團合作,如柏林愛樂(長野健指揮)、洛杉磯愛樂(杜達美指揮)、BBC交響(沃可夫指揮)、法國廣播愛樂(鄭明勳指揮)、首爾愛樂(鄭明勳指揮)、東京交響(秋山和慶指揮)、荷蘭廣播愛樂、慕尼黑交響、紐約州阿爾巴尼交響、比利時交響、台北市交、台北市國、德國呂北克愛樂、德國西法倫州新愛樂、奧地利潘諾尼愛樂、荷蘭大都會管弦、布蘭登堡交響、新布蘭登堡愛樂、德國現代室內樂團、荷蘭新室內樂團、亞特拉斯室內樂團、柏林交響附設室內樂團及盧森堡小交響樂團等。

各大國際音樂節爭相邀請吳巍演奏,如:柏林藝術節、慕尼黑雙年展、愛丁堡藝術節、多瑙艾辛根現代音樂節、慕尼黑音樂萬歲新音樂節、德勒斯登藝術節、華沙之秋藝術節、東京山多利音樂節、匈牙利巴爾托克藝術節、日內瓦阿契佩爾音樂節、科隆三年展、荷蘭藝術節、馬賽音樂節等,吳巍帶著笙登上了柏林愛樂廳、洛杉磯華特․迪士尼音樂廳、東京山多利音樂廳、阿姆斯特丹大會堂音樂廳、柏林音樂廳、維也納音樂廳、萊比錫布商大廈音樂廳、愛丁堡亞修音樂廳、巴黎夏特雷劇院等著名音樂殿堂。

吳巍的演奏足跡遍及美國、加拿大、南非、歐洲、俄羅斯及中東地區,首演作品超過百部,其中包括十首寫給笙與樂團的協奏曲;他經常演出現代作曲名家如約翰․凱吉、陳銀淑、細川俊夫、安若特․施奈德、魏德曼、顧斯․楊森、譚盾、陳其鋼、郭文景及黃若等人的作品。

吳巍本身亦是一位多產的笙作曲家,曾接受法國洛約蒙基金會(2004)、德國慕尼黑音樂萬歲新音樂節(2005)、漢瑟文化基金會(2009)、紐約倫妮愛利基金會(2010)、薩克森文化基金會(2003、2005、2006、2011)等機構的委託創作。

吳巍是一位前衛的笙獨奏家,以奇巧新意、過人技巧、不拘流派的高超演奏,使笙這個具有四千年歷史的古老樂器搖身一變,在當代音樂中成為令人耳目一新的聲音。

 

Wu Wei l Sheng

WU Wei, born 1970 in P.R.China, studied the Sheng at the Shanghai Conservatory and was a soloist with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra before studying at the Hanns Eisler Academy with a DAAD scholarship in Berlin, where he is now based.

In addition to many prestigious national and international competitions for traditional Chinese music, he won the Musica Vitale Competition, Germany, in 1996 and 2002 and the Global Root world music prize in 2004. In 2011 he won the Herald Angels Award by Edinburgh International Festival for Composition of Unsuk Chin „Su-Concertro for Sheng“ with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under Myung-Whun Chun.

Since 1996 he has appeared as a soloist with many leading orchestras and ensembles, including the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestras under Kent Nagano, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra under Gustavo Dudamel, the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Ilan Volkov, the Radio France Philharmoic Orchestra and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under Myung-Whun Chun, the Netherlands Radio Philharmoic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra under Kazuyoshi Akiyama, the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra New York, the Belgium Symphony Orchestra Valaanderen, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, the Taipei Chinese Orchestra, the Luebecker Philharmonic Orchetra, the Westfalen New Philharmonic, the Pannonische Philharmonic Orchestra Austria, the Metropole Orchestra Holland, the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, the new Brandenburg Philharmoic Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, the Nieuw Ensemble Holland, Atlas Ensemble Holland, the Chamber Ensemble of the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Luxembourg Sinfonietta, etc.

He has appeared at the Berliner Festspiele, the Munich Bienale, the Edinburgh international festival, the Donaueschingen Musik Tage, the Musica Viva Munich, the Dresdener Festspiele, the Warsaw Autumn, the Suntory music Festival Tokyo, the Bartók Festival Hungarian, the Achipel Festival Geneve, the Cologne Triennal, the Holland Festival, Festival les Musiques Marseille etc., and at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Walt Disney Hall Los Angeles, Suntory Hall Tokyo, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the User Hall Edinburgh, and the Théatre du Chatelet Paris etc.

His international engagements include appearances throughout the USA, Canada, South America, Europe, Russia, and the Middle and Far East, and he has given the world premieres of more than 150 works (including ten concertos for Sheng and Orchestra), by composers including John Cage, Unsuk Chin, Toshio Hosokawa, Enjott Schneider, Joerg Widmann, Guus Janssen, Tan Dun, Chen Qigang, Guo Weijing and Ruo Huang.

He is also a prolific composer for Sheng. He already received various composition comimssions, such as the foundation Royaumont in 2004, "Musica Viva" Munich in 2005, the Hanse culture foundation in 2009, the Civitella Ranieri foundation New York in 2010, and the cultural foundation Sachsen in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2011.

WU Wei is an avant-garde Sheng soloist. He has helped to develop this four thousand's years old ancient instrument into an innovative force in contemporary music, through the creation of new theniques, expanding the new repertories and intergrating different styles and genres.
