達娜．貝絲．米勒｜次女高音

達娜·貝絲·米勒是目前全球最棒的戲劇次女高音之一，她詮釋過眾多令人印象深刻且困難的角色，包括貝里尼《諾瑪》的亞達基莎、威爾第《假面舞會》的烏麗卡與《阿依達》的安妮莉絲、華格納《尼貝龍指環》的艾爾達、德弗札克《魯莎卡》的外國公主，以及馬斯卡尼《鄉村騎士》的桑杜莎。
身為柏林德意志歌劇院樂團前成員的達娜·貝絲·米勒，多次登上該歌劇院的舞台，例如她的歐洲首演就是在導演克里斯多福·羅依全新製作的《法斯塔夫》中演出奎克莉夫人；在兩次全本《尼貝龍指環》中首次演出艾爾達，第一次由賽門·拉圖爵士指揮，第二次則是唐諾·魯尼克斯；另外還演出《歌女喬康達》的盲母切卡、《假面舞會》的烏麗卡、史特拉汶斯基（浦羅柯菲夫）《三橘之戀》的克拉麗莎公主，以及《彼得葛萊姆》的謝德里夫人。
除了歐洲之外，達娜·貝絲·米勒也在北美登台演出，先前樂季中她在美國亞利桑納歌劇院與土爾沙歌劇院演出《阿依達》的安妮莉絲、在波士頓抒情歌劇院演出卡門、在科羅拉多歌劇院與聖安東尼奧歌劇院演出《弄臣》的瑪達蕾娜、在奧斯丁抒情歌劇院演出普朗克《斷頭台上的修女》的瑪麗修女、在科羅拉多歌劇院演出《魯莎卡》的外國公主，以及在加拿大艾德蒙頓歌劇院演出《鄉村騎士》的桑杜莎。
至於2015/16樂季，她則首次登上日內瓦歌劇院，在夏爾·杜特華的指揮下演出《特洛伊人》的安娜；在全新製作的布列頓《仲夏夜之夢》中演出亞瑪遜女王希波莉塔；另外，本樂季的其他角色還包括在土爾沙歌劇院演出《參孫與達麗拉》、在卡爾斯魯厄國家歌劇院演出全新製作的《法斯塔夫》、在佛羅里達大歌劇演出貝里尼《諾瑪》的亞達基莎，最後會在羅伯特·立基·布林諾里的指揮下，在柏林德意志歌劇院以威爾第《遊唱詩人》的阿珠奇娜一角，結束這個樂季。

關於音樂會演出方面，達娜·貝絲·米勒表演過的劇/曲目包括威爾第的《安魂曲》、馬勒的第三號交響曲、貝多芬的第九號交響曲、韓德爾的《彌賽亞》、史特拉汶斯基的《婚禮》，並與柏林愛樂演出《漂泊的荷蘭人》的瑪麗。

Dana Beth Miller has built a reputation as one of the most exciting dramatic mezzo-sopranos gracing our stages today, amassing a portfolio of impressive and demanding roles en route ranging from Bellini’s Adalgisa, Verdi’s Ulrica and Amneris through Wagner’s Erda, Dvorak’s Foreign Princess and Mascagni’s Santuzza.
As a former member of its ensemble, Deutsche Oper Berlin provided the stage for Dana Beth Miller’s European debut as Mistress Quickly in Christoph Loy’s new production of Falstaff, moving on to sing her first Erda there in two complete Ring Cycles, the first under Sir Simon Rattle and then Donald Runnicles.  Further roles in Berlin have included La Cieca in La Gioconda, Ulrica in Un ballo in maschera, Princess Clarissa in Stravinsky’s L’amour des Trois Oranges and Mrs. Sedley (Peter Grimes).
Engagements in past seasons in North America have included Amneris (Aïda) for both Arizona and Tulsa Operas, Carmen with Boston Lyric Opera, Maddalena (Rigoletto)  for Opera Colorado and San Antonio Opera, Mère Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites with Austin Lyric Opera, Foreign Princess (Rusalka) for Opera Colorado and Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana) with Edmonton Opera.
The current season opens with a debut at the Grand Théâtre Genève as Anna in Les Troyens under Charles Dutoit, followed by Hippolyta in a new production of Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The season continues with a role debut in Samson et Dalila at Tulsa Opera, a new production of Falstaff at Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Adalgisa in Bellini’s Norma for Florida Grand Opera and closes with Azucena in Verdi’s Il trovatore at Deutsche Oper Berlin under Roberto Rizzi Brignoli.
In concert, Dana Beth Miller has performed such repertoire as Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No.3, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, Handel’s Messiah and Stravinsky’s Les Noces and performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker as Mary in concert performances of Der fliegende Holländer.
