朱利安‧拉赫林

朱利安·拉赫林是當代最傑出、最受推崇的小提琴家之一。過去28年來,他以特有的圓潤琴音、超凡的技巧與傑出的演繹,擄獲全球聽眾的芳心,並且與眾多一流指揮家與樂團建立起緊密的合作關係。他不斷嘗試自己在音樂上的可能性,因此也身兼中提琴家與指揮的角色。拉赫林過去12年來在克羅埃西亞的杜布尼克,舉辦世界知名的「朱利安·拉赫林與朋友」音樂節,這個平台讓一流的音樂家與演員得以大展身手,將最具創意與活力的計畫搬上舞台。除了用音樂的演出讓聽眾大飽耳福而外,他也以年輕慈善家的身份為人稱道,身為聯合國兒童基金會親善大使的他,致力於教育推廣與慈善工作。 

拉赫林 2016/17 樂季的重要合作樂團與指揮家包括:慕尼黑愛樂與祖賓·梅塔、聖彼得堡愛樂與尤里·捷米爾卡諾夫、以色列愛樂與迦南德里亞·諾謝達,他伴隨中國愛樂與余隆進行北美巡迴演出,並且回到愛丁堡音樂節與史卡拉愛樂及里卡多·夏伊共同演出。

在指揮工作方面,拉赫林擔任皇家北方交響樂團的首席客座指揮一職已經進入第二個樂季,另外他首次指揮的樂團則有俄羅斯國立學院交響樂團、盧森堡愛樂、挪威特隆赫姆交響樂團,以及中國愛樂等;他也會再次指揮薩爾茲堡室內樂團、瑞士義大利管弦樂團、布拉格愛樂,以及皇家利物浦愛樂。此外,他也會與皇家北方交響樂團前往南美巡迴演出,並與英國室內管弦樂團進行歐洲巡迴。拉赫林最近也被指定為芬蘭土庫爾愛樂的首席客座指揮,他將於2017/18樂季開始走馬上任。

至於2015/16樂季,他分別在里卡多·夏伊與阿胥肯納吉的指揮下,為史卡拉愛樂與瑞士義大利管弦樂團演出開季音樂會。他也擔任法國國家管弦樂團2015/16 樂季的駐團音樂家,在丹尼爾·加蒂的指揮下進行歐洲與北美的巡迴演出。其他著名的表演則包括與巴伐利亞廣播交響樂團及楊頌斯在琉森音樂節演出,並與萊比錫布商大廈樂團及布隆斯泰特在愛丁堡音樂節演出。

拉赫林1974年出生於立陶宛,1978年移民至維也納,他在維也納音樂學院師從小提琴大師庫喜納,同時也是祖克曼的弟子。他在1988年贏得歐洲音樂大賽的「年度青年音樂家」獎項,接著他便成為與維也納愛樂共同演出的最年輕獨奏家,在慕提指揮下首次登臺演出。在楊頌斯的推薦之下,朱利安·拉赫林得以跟隨蘇菲·拉赫林學習指揮。從1999年九月起,他開始在維也納市音樂藝術大學教授小提琴。他也與索尼古典、華納古典、德意志留聲機等唱片公司合作錄音,作品深受好評。  

朱利安·拉赫林使用的小提琴由Dkfm Angelika Prokopp私人基金會出借,出自斯特拉迪瓦里之手、1704年由李比希擁有的名琴,以及1785年的斯托里奧尼中提琴。他的琴弦由維也納Thomastik-Infeld琴弦製造廠大方贊助。

Julian Rachlin is one of the most exciting and respected violinists of our time. Over the last 28 years, he has been captivating audiences around the world with his distinctively rich sound, superb musicianship and outstanding interpretations, and has established close relationships with many of the most prestigious conductors and orchestras. Always willing to expand his musical horizons, he is also praised as viola player and conductor. For 12 years, Julian Rachlin has led the internationally renowned “Julian Rachlin & Friends” festival in Dubrovnik, Croatia, a platform for creative and vibrant projects with leading musicians and actors. Besides delighting his audiences with his musical performances, he is also receiving recognition as a young philanthropist for his educational outreach and charity work as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. 

Highlights of Julian Rachlin’s 2016/17 season include engagements with the Munich Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Yuri Temirkanov, the Israel Philharmonic and Gianandrea Noseda, a North America tour with the China Philharmonic and Long Yu, and his return to the Edinburgh Festival with the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra and Riccardo Chailly.

As conductor, Julian Rachlin performs his second season as Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Northern Sinfonia and makes his conducting debuts with, among others, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Trondheim Symphony, and China Philharmonic. He will also return to the Camerata Salzburg, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Prague Philharmonia, and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Additionally, he will tour South America with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, and Europe with the English Chamber Orchestra. Julian Rachlin has recently been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Turku Philharmonic in Finland, a post he will assume in the 2017/18 season.

In 2015/16, he opened the seasons of the La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra with Riccardo Chailly, and of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana with Vladimir Ashkenazy. He also toured Europe and North America with the Orchestre National de France and Daniele Gatti as the orchestra’s 2015/16 Artist in Residence. Other notable engagements included performances at the Lucerne Festival with the Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphony Orchestra and Mariss Jansons, and at the Edinburgh Festival with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and Herbert Blomstedt.

Born in Lithuania in 1974, Julian Rachlin immigrated to Vienna in 1978. He studied violin with Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory, and with Pinchas Zukerman. After winning the "Young Musician of the Year" Award at the Eurovision Competition in 1988, he became the youngest soloist ever to play with the Vienna Philharmonic, making his debut under Riccardo Muti. At the recommendation of Mariss Jansons, Julian Rachlin studied conducting with Sophie Rachlin. Since September 1999, he has been on the violin faculty at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna. His recordings for Sony Classical, Warner Classics and Deutsche Grammophon have all been met with great acclaim.
