廖武俊 Wu-Chun Liau 現就讀於國立臺灣師範大學音樂學系博士班,主修管弦樂指揮,師事廖嘉弘教授。 Wu-Chun Liau is a Taiwanese conductor and violist currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Orchestral Conducting at National Taiwan Normal University under the guidance of Professor Chia-Hung Drapal Liao. In 2025, he was selected to participate in the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy, joining the production of Verdi’s La Traviata. He will return to Japan in 2026 to take part in the opera production of Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus at the Matsumoto Festival. His conducting studies have been enriched through masterclasses and mentorship with distinguished conductors including Jun Märkl, Andreas Delfs, Wen-Pin Chien, Mei-Ann Chen, Yu-An Chang, and Sharon Choa. Liau currently serves as Assistant Conductor of the Taipei Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Associate Conductor of the Taipei Century Youth Orchestra, and Conductor of the Chenggong String Orchestra. He has conducted a wide range of repertoire, including symphonic works, concertos, and opera productions. Originally trained as a violist, Liau studied under Professor Jui-Se Yang and has performed regularly with professional orchestras throughout Taiwan. His extensive experience as a string player informs his conducting style, bringing particular attention to orchestral color, phrasing, ensemble balance, and musical communication. |
