名額及參加對象：預計錄取16名學員。凡年滿18歲，歡迎對臺灣文學英譯有興趣之國內外譯者，社會人士及大專院校與研究所在學學生皆可報名，不限國籍。

本次工作坊邀請英國獨立出版人 Dr. Will Buckingham 分享 Wind & Bones 於 2025 年出版的文學合集《Tâigael》的企劃理念與翻譯出版歷程。《Tâigael》透過蓋爾語與台語的交織，串連多種語言之間的轉譯與交流，開展跨文化閱讀的可能，也重新喚起大眾對祖傳語言與文化的關注。

同時，我們也邀請參與《Tâigael》計畫的兩位台語作家 Naomi Sím 與 玖芎（Kiú-kiong） 蒞臨課堂，分享他們在創作、翻譯及出版推廣過程中的實務經驗。透過創作者與出版者的對話，本工作坊旨在以具體案例深化文學翻譯與出版實務之間的連結，並為參與學員與對文學翻譯有興趣的讀者提供交流與學習的平台。

本工作坊以多語文學翻譯為核心，結合專題講座與翻譯實作，介紹台語（Tâi-gí）、華語（Mandarin）、英語（English）與蓋爾語（Gaelic）之間的翻譯經驗與跨語言出版模式。透過作家、譯者與出版者的多重視角，探討從企劃、創作到翻譯與出版過程中所涉及的文化與語言議題。

導師介紹

Dr. Will Buckingham

Dr. Will Buckingham是來自英國、定居臺灣的作家兼編輯。現任Parami大學的教授，並共同創辦 Wind&Bones Books。他是短篇小說集《Tâigael》的共同總編輯。

文本作家介紹

Naomi Sím

設計系小說家，現為設計系研究生，致力於以設計思維進行文學創作與推動語言復振。雲林人，20歲才開始學台語文。獲教育部臺灣台語文學獎短篇小說組首獎，在Tâigael短篇小說合集中擔任作者與譯者。

玖芎（Kiú-kiong）

玖芎Kiú-kiong，宜蘭人，安卡拉大學土語系，興大台文所。經營台文電子報「3尾兔仔」。 2022 年出版土耳其留學散文《我把自己埋進土裡》，仝年得著 Openbook好書獎入圍。母語是土地的聲音，是地海太古語，是咱的魔法。

與談人介紹

李根芳教授

英國薩塞克斯大學英美文學博士，現任國立臺灣師範大學翻譯研究所教授。研究領域包括翻譯理論、性別研究、文化研究等。著有《全球在地化的文化翻譯》、《不安於「是」：西洋女性文學十二家》，譯著包括《歐蘭多》、《論自我與寫作：吳爾芙散文集》、《反對愛情》、《勘誤表》等。

Tâigael: Heritage Languages in Translation & Cross-Cultural Dialogue

Selection Quota and Eligibility: A total of 16 participants will be selected. Anyone aged 18 or above, including nonTaiwanese citizens, with an interest in translating Taiwan literature into English is welcome to apply, including emerging translators, working professionals, and undergraduate/graduate students from both domestic and international backgrounds

Registration: Online registration. Free workshop. Admitted participants are required to attend the full two-day workshop.

This workshop invites British independent publisher Dr. Will Buckingham to share the concept and translation-to-publication journey of “Tâigael,” a literary anthology published by Wind & Bones in 2025. By weaving together Scottish Gaelic and Taiwanese (Tâi-gí), “Tâigael” connects the translation and exchange between multiple languages, opening up possibilities for cross-cultural reading and reawakening public interest in heritage languages and cultures.

At the same time, we have invited two Taiwanese writers involved in the “Tâigael” project, Naomi Sím and Kiú-kiong, to share their practical experiences in the process of creation, translation, and publishing. Through a dialogue between creators and publishers, this workshop aims to use concrete cases to deepen the link between literary translation teaching and practice, providing a platform for exchange and learning for participants and readers interested in literary translation.

Centred on multilingual literary translation, this workshop combines participatory workshops with translation practice to explore diverse translation practices that cross between cultures and languages: Taiwanese (Tâi-gí), Mandarin, English, and Gaelic. Through the multiple perspectives of writers, translators, and publishers, this two-day workshop creatively explores the cultural and linguistic issues involved in the process from planning and creation to translation and publication.
