Artist Guo Jisen specializes in traditional gongbi Buddhist painting, with a particular focus on depictions of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. He and His 24 students present a curated selection of more than 70 Buddhist paintings. The works feature a range of Buddhist figures, including Guanyin, Samantabhadra, and Manjushri.
The works feature the delicate lines of traditional Eastern gongbi painting, enriched with color-ink techniques and Western approaches to light and shadow, showcasing the harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western artistic traditions. Visitors are invited to appreciate the serene majesty, compassionate presence, and exquisite details of the Buddhist figures, and to experience the quiet strength and spirit of compassion embodied in Buddhist painting.
