Come experience the imagery woven into Shih-Hui Chen's music and the eternal love of Romeo and Juliet that still lives on after four hundred years…

Come into our musical garden tonight, where love and imagery awaits.

This concert not only is the Asia premiere of famous Taiwanese composer Shih-Hui Chen’s many compositions, but also presents "Silvergrass, for Cello and Chamber Orchestra", her collaboration with renowned cellist Wen-Sinn Yang. Chen mainly draws inspiration from her homeland for her creations, and "Silvergrass” is inspired by four poems by Taiwanese Nativist Literature author Huang Chun-ming. Four poems for four different styles of music, together forming a collection of childhood memories that show the inseparable link between music and literature. One thing that can be found throughout the composition is the strong longing and love of one's homeland.

Berlioz's "Romeo and Juliet" is one of the most significant program music pieces of the 19th century. It presented a new world to Romantic School composers with its strong passion and fierce strength. Come experience a robust and creative interpretation of the masterpiece brought to you by young conductor Yao-Yu Wu.

This concert is a statement of true love in various settings. Although the lovers eventually meet a tragic end, their story lives on through music - where audiences become witnesses of undying and eternal love.
