This is the premiere of dance drama The Creatures of Prometheus (1800 - 1801) by Beethoven in Taiwan. A novel attempt to integrate contemporary choreography and original visual arts with the music, this is a domestic performance that should not be missed.

In Greek mythology, Prometheus was the god that created human beings. He also stole fire from the gods so that our human ancestors would not suffer from hunger and cold. However, Prometheus was punished for this and tied to a rock on the high mountains, where a large eagle would come and peck out his liver every day. Inspired by this courageous story, Beethoven composed the music for this dance drama. The composer even made Prometheus a role model to remind himself that he should encourage all suffering beings with his music. In the end of this drama, Prometheus is released. The triumphant music for this part was later expanded by Beethoven into the final movement in his Symphony No.3 "Heroic Symphony".
