鄭立彬 Li-Pin Cheng
指揮家。自幼學習小提琴及鋼琴,亦研習笙與二胡等傳統樂器。1997年以小提琴主修畢業於國立藝術學院,2002年以指揮主修畢業於國立臺北藝術大學研究所碩士班,指揮先後受教於亨利‧梅哲﹙Henry Mazer﹚、徐頌仁、陳秋盛,2006年3月受邀參加指揮大師羅林‧馬捷爾﹙Lorin Maazel﹚大師班,深受大師肯定與青睞。
2003~04年擔任臺北市立交響樂團助理指揮展開職業生涯,2004~15年擔任臺北愛樂青年管弦樂團音樂總監暨首席指揮,2007年起專職任教於中國文化大學,2015~21年借調擔任臺北市立國樂團團長,2021年兼代臺北市立交響樂團團長。客席指揮邀約不斷,陸續指揮臺灣及中國大陸各地職業國樂團及交響樂團,也應邀至馬來西亞、香港、日本、美國等地演出。演出之餘,灌錄了17張有聲出版品公開發行,2017年以《臺灣音畫》專輯獲得臺灣第28屆傳藝金曲獎「最佳詮釋獎─指揮」殊榮;2018年再以《瘋‧原祭》專輯獲得第29屆傳藝金曲獎「最佳專輯製作人獎」。
橫跨中西樂團的指揮功力及經歷,亦熱衷指揮及推廣臺灣作曲家作品。在擔任臺北市立國樂團團長期間,帶領樂團建構的「臺北之聲」,除深獲好評,其聲響美學亦與其他國樂團產生極高辨識度。2018年在美國卡內基音樂廳指揮的音樂會,也讓臺北市立國樂團成為臺灣第一個登上該廳的職業樂團。
As a conductor, CHENG learned violin and piano since childhood, and also studied traditional instruments such as Sheng and Erhu. In 1997, CHENG graduated from the National Academy of Arts majoring in violin performance, and received his master's degree in conducting from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2002. He was mentored by many maestros, including Henry MAZER, HSU Sung-Jen and Felix Chiu-Sen CHEN. In March 2006, he joined the masterclass of Maestro Lorin MAAZEL, where he found great validation from the maestro.
From 2003 to 2004, CHENG started his career as an assistant conductor with Taipei Symphony Orchestra. From 2004 to 2015 he served as the Music Director and Principal Conductor of Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Since 2007, he has been a full-time teacher in the Department of Chinese Music of Chinese Culture University. Between 2015 and 2021 he was seconded to serve as the General Director of Taipei Chinese Orchestra, and as the Acting Director of Taipei Symphony Orchestra in 2021. CHENG has in recent years received numerous invitations as a guest conductor by both professional Chinese orchestras and symphony orchestras from Taiwan and mainland China. His outstanding artistry has also put him on the podiums at concerts in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, and the United Sates. Moreover, CHENG has published 17 audio recordings. In 2017, CHENG was recognized with the “Best Interpretation” with Sketches of Taiwan during “The 28th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music”; a year later, he earned “Best Album Producer” in “The 29th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music” with Taiwanese Aboriginal Carnival.
Besides extraordinary conducting experience of Chinese and Western orchestras, CHENG is also keen to conduct and promote works by Taiwanese composers. During his tenure as the General Director of Taipei Chinese Orchestra, he led the orchestra to construct the "Voice of Taipei", which is highly acclaimed and its acoustic aesthetics has become highly recognizable from other Chinese orchestras. In 2018, the concert he conducted at the Carnegie Hall in United States made Taipei Chinese Orchestra the first professional orchestra in Taiwan to perform in that hall.
