林智文

林智文,族名打必烈・茆略。生於新北市中和區,噶哈巫族族人。自國小加入管樂團學習薩克管,對音樂的熱忱於此萌芽,並於高二下開始學習作曲與鋼琴 ; 理論作曲曾師事黎國峰老師,張安宜老師,陳宜貞老師,現師於嚴福榮老師 ,畢業於東吳大學音樂學系。

聲樂作品《蜷伏》曾獲得2017年「雅歌:中文藝術歌曲創作甄選」第二名;弦樂四重奏《趒戲Tio-hi》2018年曾入選與香港中文大學交流;曾參與《2019年第4屆IFOAM亞洲有機青年論壇》廣告音樂製作。近年來積極參與全台灣各部落的田野調查,吸取更多島嶼上的文化養分,希望創作出屬於「福爾摩沙」的音樂。

Zhi-Wen Lin

Zhi-Wen Lin, Kaxabu’s name is Tabiliah・Baliax, born in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, Kaxabu indigenous people. Joining the wind band to learn the saxophone in elementary school, the enthusiasm for music begins. I started to learn composition and piano when I was in my second year of high school. Learning experience of composition had been taught by professor Li Guo-feng, Zhang An-yi, Chen Yi-zhen, currently learn from professor Yan Fu-rong. Graduating from the Music Department of Soochow University.

The art song “Quan-fu" won the second place in 2017 "Ya Ge: Selection of Chinese Art Songs"; The string quartet "Tio-hi" was selected for exchange with the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018; Participating in the advertising music production of the 4th IFOAM Asia Organic Youth Forum in 2019. Recent years, I have actively participated in field investigations on various tribes in Taiwan for enculturating all the indigenous things in this island, trying to compose the music more "Formosa-tic".

《走鏢》

「maazazuah」一詞在噶哈巫語中指的是「走鏢」儀式,是埔里「噶哈巫族」過年(azem)時的賽跑儀式。一大早族人們會敲著銅鑼,挨家挨戶告知過年的開始,部落的青年男子必須沿著噶哈巫族的四個部落(蜈蚣崙、大湳、守城份與牛眠),第一名的男子將會得到一塊象徵勇士的等身「走鏢旗」掛布,並穿戴在身上。

此作品由噶哈巫的古調「aiyen」的第一句旋律為主要發想,並機貫穿全曲,使用其古調的靈魂:完全五度與大二度,且並以四度疊和聲呼應噶哈巫驕傲的自稱「四庄番」,與其以四五度疊合為主的變化和組合,作為全曲音高素材,而整體織度與架構多以「層疊」為主,除了表達追逐外,還想表達「織布」的意義。

創作此作品除了試圖展顯噶哈巫文化外,更是獻給耆老們的禮物,因為尊貴的你們對文化的堅持,讓我體會到噶哈巫音樂的存粹與美麗,讓我能完成這個作品,Kaxabu ut’se ! (噶哈巫,加油!)。

maazazuah

“maazazuah” means a ceremony of racing competition in Kaxabu language. It’s annual ceremony on the Kaxabu’s new year festival in Puli. At the first day of beginning, tribe people beat the small gong door to door , telling everyone that the “azem” festival are going to start.  All the youths in the tribe have to attend the “maazazuah”, racing around four main tribe , “Tauving”, “Kalikuh” , “Swankulus” and “Basia”. The finale winner will be awarded with a  “Wearing Pennants” which is as long as body. That cloth symbolize honor to be the warrior.

To present that in the music, the main idea of this piece was developed from the “aiyen” which is traditional melody of Kaxabu Indigenous people in Taiwan. The spirit of the “aiyen” was constructed by perfect fifth and major second as the whole music material, using the fourths harmony and its variation and combination responds the self-proclaimed "Aboriginal of Four Tribes" proud of Kaxabu people. The overall texture and structure are mostly "stacking". In addition to expressing the chasing, I also want to express the cultural meaning of "weaving".
