The year 2025 marks the 100th Anniversary of the death of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of our nation. The exhibition “Sun Yat-sen and Taiwan: Revolutionary Ideals and Contemporary Resonance” reintroduces you to the pioneer of democracy in Asia and explores his influence in Taiwan. Through the three exhibition areas: “Sun Yat-sen: The Transformation from a Teenager to a Revolutionary,” “Revolutionary Heroes: Patriots Who Influenced Taiwan,” and “From History to Daily Life: How Sun Yat-sen’s Spirit Influences Us,” visitors will understand how Sun Yat-sen ignited the fire of revolution in his youth, joined hands with like-minded individuals to promote democracy and equality, and influenced the political and social development in Taiwan.
Sun Yat-sen’s lofty ideals have created history inspired numerous young people and have been integrated into daily life in Taiwan. His concepts of “Nationalism, Democracy, and Livelihood” have transcended time and space and become a part of Taiwanese society. From movies, architecture, textbooks, and street names, to the democratic constitution, his influence can be seen everywhere. The exhibition invites young generations to engage with Sun Yat-sen’s thoughts from different perspectives and think about how to extend them in the context of liberty and democracy and continue to promote social advancement and innovation. We sincerely invite you to explore the revolutionary resonance between Sun Yat-sen and Taiwan together and search for an ideal path that belongs to you and the modern world.
