活躍於德國與俄國的美國指揮家多利安·威爾森，將主導演出一場有些另類的演出，除了與丹麥大提家托克·默爾德魯普合作的浦羅高菲夫《E小調協奏交響曲》（1952年），還有希區考克的電影音樂，以及顏名秀根據文學名著譜成的新作。
《迷魂記》是希區考克1958年的電影，為它譜寫音樂的是好萊塢當時最知名的作曲家伯納．赫曼。赫曼早在1940年就為奧森·威爾斯的經典名片《大國民》（Citizen Kane)創作音樂而一舉成名；他大量應用不協和音響，為希區考克驚悚恐怖的劇情，造成亦步亦趨、推波助瀾的效果，令人印象深刻。
顏名秀的管弦樂《永恆之愛》（2018年），是國立臺灣交響樂團「交響臺灣」計畫的委託創作，取材自同志作家邱妙津曾經喧騰一時的書信體小說《蒙馬特遺書》（1995年）。顏名秀如何以她一貫的細膩委婉的音樂筆法，來刻劃那位為愛尋短女性的內心世界？頗令人期盼！
浦羅柯菲夫的《E小調協奏交響曲》（1952年），當初是為大提琴家羅斯卓波維奇與樂團在莫斯科的演出而寫的。此曲新古典主義的樂風，巧妙的融合了十八世紀的優雅與二十世紀的現代感。（撰文／陳漢金）
American conductor Dorian Wilson, who is active in Germany and Russia, brings a unique presentation this evening: this concert includes Prokofiev's Sinfonia Concertante in E minor (1952) with Danish cellist Toke Møldrup, Hitchcock's film scores, and composer Ming-Hsiu Yen’s new creation which was inspired by local literature. The movie Vertigo was directed by Hitchcock in 1958 and scored by the most famous composer in Hollywood at the time: Bernard Herrmann. Herrmann had already made a name for himself in 1940 with his work in Orson Welles' Citizen Kane. Audiences will not forget the many discordant sounds that helped set the unsettling atmosphere – the score was like a stalking entity that also played a crucial part in the story-telling.
Ming-Hsiu Yen's Everlasting Love for Orchestra (2018) is a commissioned piece by NTSO “Symphonic Taiwan” project. It is inspired by homosexual author Chiu Miao-Chin's epistolary style novel Last Words from Montmartre (1996), which ignited much debate and discussion back then. We can’t wait to hear how Yen used her delicate and reserved music style to depict the inner thoughts of this young woman who died for love.
Prokofiev's Sinfonia Concertante in E minor (1952) was originally written for cellist Mstislav Rostropovich and orchestra to perform in Moscow. The Neo-Classicism style work cleverly combines the elegance from the 18th century with the modernity of the 20th century.
