“24/7” (twenty-four-seven) is an English idiom that means 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, describing something that’s continuously cycling, every single day. Have you ever noticed how your life repeats itself every day? In these “repeated” days, we grow up without realizing it, and time slowly “accumulates” to shape who we are.
Actually, art creation is very much the same! In the world of art, “repetition” means repeatedly using the same textures, shapes, or colors. “Accumulation,” on the other hand, is about creating new variations by layering different elements. For artists, through countless practices and experiments, this repetitive cycle slowly builds up a unique creative style.
The exhibition presents new works by emerging artists, while offering fresh perspectives on the iconic creations of their predecessors. This builds a bridge for dialogue between visitors of all ages. We hope that the shift in perspective will resonate well with the 2025 keyword for the Taiwan Children’s Art Cave, “#SeeItDifferently.” Our aim is for all visitors to understand the concepts of “repetition” and “accumulation” in art creation in a fun way.

Hailed as the “Father of Modern Printmaking in Taiwan,” LIAO Shiou Ping excels at using “repetition” and “accumulation” in printmaking to express different facets of life. This not only imbues his works with a modern feel and rich layering, but also allows us to perceive the interplay of past, present, and future as time flows by. |

Artist SHIH Meng Hsin’s inspiration resonates with artist LIAO Shiou Ping’s printmaking techniques. Through continuous mold-making and material experimentation, he playfully explores visual changes involving“repetition” and “accumulation.” Just like in printmaking, this makes the “texture” of the work rich and fascinating! |

CHANG Yung Tsuen is a pioneer in large-scale watercolor painting in Taiwan. He not only broke through traditional techniques but also allowed watercolor to reveal more layers and possibilities in works exceeding 150 cm in size. Through the “repetition” and “accumulation” of geometric shapes, he portrays the contours and rhythms of cities, rendering his artworks a sense of three-dimensionality and vitality. |

|
Artist CHUANG Hui Lin was inspired by artist CHANG Yung Tsuen’s Upraising the Civilization. Starting from the “repetition” and “accumulation” of geometric shapes, she imagined each shape as a cell and also as a tiny house. Through the transformation and build-up of paper, she turned simple “shapes” into a city full of imagination. |

Hailed as the “master of color,” LIAO Chi Chun had an extraordinary ability to use color freely. He once said, “My colors are deceptive; they are not loyal to nature.” He often visited Tamsui to sketch, accumulating observations and feelings. This helped him develop a unique artistic language where “repetition” and “accumulation” became essential methods in his creation. |

|
Artist HO Yen Yen drew inspiration from artist LIAO Chi Chun’s Overlooking Tamsui, extracting its colors, brushstrokes, and visual rhythm. He transformed the “repetition” and “accumulation” found in sketching from life into a dynamic space. Through changes in “color” and light and shadow, we not only discover the town’s scenery, but also capture fleeting moments of surprise in a slow, recurring flow. |
