翻開一本書，我們總能從字裡行間讀到專屬作者個人文化感官所構築的世界觀，然而，書籍設計師則更具體地讓作品的世界落實於書冊之間，書的重量、封面、扉頁、裝幀、印刷……書籍設計，其實是我們認識作品的第一個媒介。藉由書籍，打開了邊界，走訪了世界。而你我的視界，也由此展開。

Every time we open a book, we enter a world shaped by the author's cultural background and personal perspectives. However, while the author builds this world through their words, it is the book designer who gives it a physical form. Before we even begin to read, a book’s design—from its weight and cover to its binding and printing—shapes our first impression of a work. From there, the book will carry us across borders and into unfamiliar worlds, our own view of the world expanding with every page we turn.

臺灣文學糧倉「文學沙盒」以「界／Borderless」為空間企劃，聚焦於跨越界限的概念，期許匯集不同文化背景的視線，開展出新的可能。「最美的書：臺灣與捷克」書展精選臺灣與捷克競賽得獎書籍，透過展示書籍設計、裝幀美學所展現的創作世界，邀請讀者於翻閱中體驗設計美學勾勒出的創意表現。

Building on the idea of crossing boundaries, the Literary Sandbox at Taiwan Literature Hub presents 界／Borderless, a curated spatial project that uses physical space as a medium for exploring ideas. This initiative brings together diverse cultural perspectives to imagine new possibilities. As part of this project, the exhibition The Most Beautiful Books: Taiwan and Czechia showcases selected books from Taiwan alongside award-winning titles from Czechia’s national book design competition. These books invite visitors to explore creative worlds shaped by design and craftsmanship, revealing how the beauty of book design brings each work to life.

在這一系列跨越語言、地域、領域的作品中，展覽將探索設計如何於不同文化與時空中流動再創造，並藉此激發更多跨領域合作的可能：兼具美學與敘事性的作品－－小說、詩集、展覽圖錄、繪本、設計書籍－－呈現書籍不只是知識的載體，更是文化交流的視覺語言，並在本界與世界的對話中，再現「界／Borderless」的精神。

Through a series of works that cross languages, regions, and disciplines, the exhibition explores how design flows across cultures and time, constantly reinventing itself and opening up new possibilities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. Aesthetically rich and narrative-driven works ranging from novels and poetry collections to exhibition catalogues, picture books, and design publications demonstrate that books are not only vessels of knowledge, but also a visual language for cultural exchange. Through the dialogue between the local and the global, these works embody the spirit of 界／Borderless and that of a borderless world.

本界：臺灣選書

臺灣選書包含文學作品、食譜、藝術理論、展覽圖錄等類型。多色搭配的封面設計，將傳統與現代轉譯為新的視覺語彙；特殊用紙則展現出大膽、實驗性的主題精神，彰顯有如藝術品般的創作思維。而在版面設計方面，符號、字體的編排創意，則在層次堆疊或極簡表現中，綻放新穎的視覺張力，甚或形構如現代電影或劇場的風格，引人玩味再三。充滿趣味性、實驗性的裝幀方式，模糊書籍類別的界線，在閱讀體驗中注入玩賞經驗，加深讀者翻閱書籍的儀式感。畫龍點睛的加工手法、純熟的印刷技術，則讓創作者的想像力躍然紙上，並在拓展材質、裝幀技術和色彩的邊界時，為書籍營造富涵童趣、詩意或神祕的視覺效果。

The Local: Selected Works from Taiwan

The selection of works from Taiwan spans a wide range of genres, including literature, cookbooks, art theory, and exhibition catalogues. Their cover designs feature a variety of colors that translate traditional and modern elements into a harmonious new visual language. Bold and experimental concepts are reflected in the choice of special paper stock, underscoring a creative approach that treats each book as a work of art. In terms of layout, innovative arrangements of symbols and text can create striking visual tension, whether through complex layering or minimalist restraint, at times even evoking the aesthetics of modern film or theater to entertain the reader’s eyes. These playful and experimental design elements blur the boundaries between genres, transforming the reading experience into one of enjoyable discovery, and imbuing the act of turning each page with a sense of ceremony. Finishing techniques and refined printing methods add the final touches, allowing the creators’ imagination to leap off the pages. Through an unconventional use of materials, binding techniques, and color, these books achieve visual effects that can be whimsical, poetic, or mysterious.

世界：捷克選書

世界選書源自於捷克「最美的書（The Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year, MBCBY）」競賽，精選5年內獲獎的學校教材、藝術系學生作品、兒童及青少年文學、目錄、漫畫、視覺藝術、專業文獻等類型，展示競賽的深邃與廣袤。封面設計或透過特殊布材、或運用鮮明配色與加工，再輔以精心的圖文編排，展現前衛、復古兼容的創作風格。內頁版面設計上，亦因豐富色彩計畫、插圖和圖表等配置，創造生動敘事及豐沛情感，更具象化主題內容。裝幀方式與印刷技術加乘的共創，於細膩、對比的呈現中，與主題連結為新穎的閱讀體驗。書籍在尺寸、結構與材料上表現出高度自由與變化，運用不同的裁型與裝訂形式，讓書冊本身成為表現意涵的一部分。印刷與加工講究色彩與圖文的關係，在對比與張力之間取得細膩的平衡，呼應主題的多重層次。

The International: Selected Works from Czechia

The international publications feature award-winning works from the Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year (MBCBY) competition over the past five years. These include educational materials, student projects from art schools, children’s and young adult literature, catalogues, comics, visual arts publications, professional texts, and more, highlighting both the depth and breadth of the competition. Their cover designs, use of specialty fabrics, bold color palettes, or refined finishing techniques are complemented by carefully composed arrangements of text and imagery, resulting in a creative style that blends the avant-garde with the vintage. Inside, varied color schemes, illustrations, and graphic elements infuse each page with emotion and vitality, giving a physical form to a book’s narratives. Binding and printing techniques work in concert to create contrasts or intricate details to grant a fresh yet balanced reading experience. Across size, structure, and material, the books demonstrate a remarkable freedom of form: Varied cuts and binding formats turn each volume into a physical extension of its content; printing and finishing techniques thoughtfully coordinate color, text, and imagery, striking a precise balance between contrast and cohesion that echoes the complexity of each book’s theme.
