To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Museum of History (NMH), the NMH hosting this special exhibition titled “Classic Reimagined: Inspirations from the NMH Collection.” This exhibition centers on the reinterpretation of classic visual works from the museum’s collection. It looks back at the evolution of cultural and creative products inspired by these works and explores future possibilities. Focusing on the concepts of “cross-sector co-creation,” “brand licensing,” and “sustainable value,” the exhibition showcases how cultural heritage can be revitalized through contemporary creative works, blending the traditional and the modern in a harmonious way.
The exhibition is laid out over six main themed sections. Through examples of the various uses of images from the NMH collection—from designer brand items and everyday products to cross-disciplinary collaborations—it demonstrates how contemporary creative work draws inspiration from the NMH collection’s source material. This exhibition not only honors the collection, but also anticipates its future innovative applications and sustainable value.
