Welcome to Bacchus’ Feast! Beethoven’s rhythm makes the best wine, the perfect companion to dancing when you are joyously tipsy.

While the "forever..." was still echoing at the end of Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde", there was a composer in the East attempting to create a "Das Lied von der Erde" that belonged to all Chinese-speaking people with the same Tang poems Mahler put in his work.

Unlike Mahler, who chose to express his own thoughts in "Das Lied von der Erde", Chinese composer Xiao-Gang Ye's "Das Lied von der Erde" aims to present the elegance and beauty of Tang poetry. Curious about the differences between the two versions? Come and find out!

Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 is filled with ecstasy and happiness. With the exception of the solemn second movement, the other three deliver a dynamic rhythm that makes you want to dance along. Beethoven played with the rhythm in this symphony by converting his motive into the main rhythm. This brilliant symphony offers non-stop pulsing music throughout the composition, and is basically the equivalent of electronic rock in the 1800s.

Tonight, we look back to the past with the Eastern version of "Das Lied von der Erde", then end the night on a high note with the merry Symphony No. 7!
