Eternity carved with patience, gravitas forged through perseverance, Bruckner’s Symphony No. 8 is the unwavering rock of all symphonies.

Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 is famous for not only its grand structure and scale, but also its turbulent fate in classical music history. Completed in 1887, this symphony was questioned by the composer's friends and students on whether it could be performed or not. The composition later went through a couple of major revisions, yet the composer himself was never satisfied with it; therefore this symphony was never published while Bruckner was alive. This is the reason why this symphony holds a very rare record: no other composition has been performed in so many different versions in classical music history.

Nevertheless, these issues do not change the fact that this composition is a Bruckner classic. If we were to describe a composer with music, then Symphony No. 8 is the perfect description of Bruckner's entire life, for in the symphony we hear his struggles in life and perseverance in faith.

Tonight, come savor the majestic and intricate symphony conducted by veteran master Günther Herbig, and let Bruckner's music reach the heavens with his unwavering faith.
